The Libertarian Moment Is Not Over

davidg Sat, 02/13/2016 - 13:43

In August 2014, The New York Times pointed to the rise of Rand Paul as a potential signal that the long-awaited “libertarian moment” had finally arrived. Now that the Kentucky senator has dropped out of the presidential race, we can expect the naysayers to come out of the woodwork, declaring triumphantly that such a moment—if it ever existed—is definitively over. To them, I say, “Not so fast.”

Libera_me Wed, 02/10/2016 - 19:40

Representative Rod Blum from Iowa has introduced a bill to require Congress to balance the budget or get a pay cut. The  Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2016 (HR 4476) , introduced in cooperation with Downsize DC, would prevent Congress from receiving a raise as long as  the budget is not balanced. A company sent me 1 to review and another to giveaway.  This one is really nice.  All you need to do is leave one comment under the video on YouTube and you're entered.  The last giveaway for the salt and pepper grinders only had 64 entries so odds are pretty good.  This one ships from me and not Amazon this time.  Good luck!

We must Press On!

We need to grow the Liberty Movement in every state. We need to dismantle the Washington Machine: congressman by congressman; senator by senator; governor by governor.  The time has come to look around and identify whom the potential candidates; for example, the good doctor from Arizona and Tea Party candidate: Kelli Ward.  Lets put that fucking Neocon out to pasture.

And if you don't have anyone to in you State. I have some bad news for you: it's you! And you might have to get your hands dirty. Whether it's at the state legislature level or higher office; we need to shift the paradigm; so next time, whether it's Rand or Amash or whomever, they will have the support to affect change.  Or it's at the state level in both Democratic and the GOP.

Lift Where you Stand

It was sad to see Rand Paul drop out today. The caucus results were a disappointment for me. I know that sometimes the fight for liberty feels hopeless or that there is nothing that we can do to change anything. It feels like freedom is will inevitably vanish one day.

Here is a story/idea to give you a boost. In my home state of Utah, a normal guy, a nobody, named Connor Boyack became involved in politics. He campaigned for Ron Paul in 2011 and then he started his own organization to promote liberty at the state level. During the first year the Libertas Institute was a one-man show but gradually Connor was able to get sponsors and turn it into a viable non-profit.

Moving to the Gold Standard, abandoning the Federal Reserve Note

These past few months we have been quietly rebuilding a way for people to return to the gold standard. UPMA has been around since Utah's Legal Specie Act passed in 2011 but the debit cards are brand new. You can now transact against gold at a 0% buy/sell spread.

Man did I miss popularliberty. I have about six or seven websites that I check all the time because I just can't get enough.

Just remembered this one and decided to join and try it out. It feels good so far. Lots of familiar names. I think that I will stick around. Maybe I will bring a few in as well.
