"Bernie Sanders was a pacifist during the Vietnam War and applied for conscientious objector status at the time, his campaign told ABC News.

“As a college student in the 1960s he was a pacifist,” campaign spokesman Michael Briggs said in an email. “[He] isn’t now.”

The information was confirmed after a Vietnam veteran wrote a letter to The Des Moines Register asking how a Democratic Socialist like Sanders, who did not serve in the military by applying for the conscientious objector status, could be commander in chief. Steve Wikert of Cedar Falls, Iowa writes in part:"

I tuned in late and heard lots of booing for Trump, so I continued watching. Trump has not been getting much applause. As a matter of fact, he's been getting booed quite often. Eminent Domain was brought up and Jeb brought up Vera Coking (Rand's position). Trump was booed some more.

To win in the 2010 Tea Party Wave, Rubio ran as the anti-amnesty candidate despite an aggressive pro-amnesty record.  Politico reports:

It's not too late for Ron to add his name to the Libertarian Party ticket.

Their convention is in May I believe, so there's plenty of time.

Believe me, liberty-minded people like us would FLOCK to the Libertarian Party if Ron were their nominee and...he would be on virtually every state ballot this November.

I also believe the money would flow by the millions for his campaign if he ran.

I gave him money multiple time as I'm sure did a lot of others here..

He should have stayed in there - gone to the debates - and spread the liberty message as long as he could have like his dad did.

I had recently posted an opinion piece that the main reason Trump excluded himself from the January 28th Republican debate was due to Rand Paul making the 'cut'. I still believe this is true. According to recent FEC filings, top political donors at Goldman Sachs shifted their giving to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio in the last three months of last year.

Jeb Bush had been the top recipient of donations from the Wall Street investment bank. Donations to Bush shrank to a trickle as his campaign faded.

The most recent filing covers contributions and expenses between October and December. Marco Rubio’s campaign received $107,000 from Goldman Sachs executives. This number likely does not include donations to various Super PACs tied to Rubio’s candidacy.

The biggest un-constitutional elephant in the room, the kings very new un-clothes, the last things even the liberty sites seem to care about, and certainly the last thing the GOP couch potatoes have come to care about in their now more apparent open agreement that what Ron Paul heard in committee must be true, that the constitution is an anachronism, old fashioned, we don't do it that way anymore... that biggest of all elephants has become... what???

Rand Paul’s decision to drop out of the Republican presidential race Wednesday marks the end of a primary season that he can’t help but regard as a disappointment. On paper, Ron Paul's heir seemed poised to capitalize on the growing number of voters whose mistrust of big government extends to the GOP establishment, its neoconservative foreign policy, and its support for mass surveillance.

Rand Paul had a certain kind of grace and eloquence about him during his first presidential run.  

It won't be his last.  4 years is not a long time as we all know by now.  2012 feels like a year ago in the current state of warp speed we're all traveling in through space and time.    

In a way, Rand stood above the fray.  He decided it would be best to be a Senator in Kentucky instead of jumping in the pool of political sewage and participating in the current crap throwing contest that is about to ensue.
