What is the "deep state"? Is it some murky conspiracy that lurks in Washington's dark fringes? As guest Mike Lofgren, author of "The Deep State: The Fall of the Constitution and the Rise of a Shadow Government" points out, the deep state actually operates out in the open and is almost completely overlooked.

The IRS revealed on Tuesday that it discovered and stopped an automated cyberattack on its e-filing personal identification number (PIN) system last month. According to the IRS, the cybercriminals used information stolen “elsewhere outside the IRS” to generate e-file PINs for stolen Social Security numbers (SSNs). E-file PINs are used by some taxpayers to electronically file their tax returns.

Although no personal taxpayer data were compromised or disclosed by the breach, the IRS noted that the cybercriminals succeeded in using 101,000 SSNs to access e-file PINs (out of 464,000 attempts).

What does surfing have to do with Liberty? Life is an ocean full of waves. Each one different yet the same. To be a good surfer one has to work at it. Just these days a casual short notice in the news made me raise an eyebrow.
The president of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Mr. Jens Weidmann, (again) proposed a european finance ministry.

The idea is, to give Brussels even more centralized power and not only to install a european finance ministry but also to introduce european taxes.
