DP/PL was a fully bloomed dandelion and MN saw that it was time to scatter the seeds.  

I think the intended idea was to have each of us spread out to other non-liberty forums and even (gasp!) the real world to continue our advocacy of liberty.  I'm not sure the intention was to just have everybody migrate to a new site and carry on as usual - he was challenging us all to leave our comfort zones both online and off.

I initially didn't want to share publicly, my thoughts, because there's obviously some members here who have yet to forgive Michael. I will be the first to admit, it took me a while too.

I still don't completely understand it, but I accept it and I forgive him.

I could only hope for the same.

When I OP'd this, my train of thought was simply this....he had pressure from some Alpha Beta Central federal agency to turn over information by X date. ...and couldn't tell anyone.

He refused and scattered the members of the ARK, for our own sakes and his own conscience.

Just a theory.

Am I crazy? It was 'out of character' for him. What else would cause this?

However Michael did shut down DP a year ago and created PL.  If an "abc agency" pushed Michael to shut down DP would they really have "allowed him" to create PL?  Seems like that would be odd.  Plus Michael kept talking about it for such a long time so I feel like he had very mixed thoughts about everything for a while.

Them ABC.gov types couldn't just look into what other sites were created,then just follow us here,if is was fired up important?

 But,then again,they wouldn't know our names,email addies home addies,phone numbers and our friends just by being online or among the living,would they?

As far as MN goes I have mixed emotions about him. It's hard to make since of exactly how to feel right now because I don't know exactly what happened. However, I am very grateful for all the years at DP and the short run at PL. I rarely ever posted on the DP but I checked the site multiple times a day.

An odd thing happened to me over at PL. I was never able to setup an account over at PL. I must have tried 15 or 20 times without any luck. It always just gave me an error and wouldn't let me setup it up. So I emailed for assistance on 2 or 3 different occasions but I never received any support. What's odd is that this is over a course of at least 4 or 5 months. Did anyone else have a similar problem of not being able to setup an account? Could MN have been planning to shutdown the site for some time now? Maybe that's why I couldn't setup a new account.

Can't speak for anyone else, but my DP account was transferred over automatically to PL so I don't know about your case. I do know it was closed to all new members for a period of time. So maybe that's it

Hadn't thought about it but I will now. My only issue with The Rock...it just sounds so lonely besides, wasn't that the name of a movie about Alcatraz?

Funny how familiar formats seem friendlier, but reading around here a bit before jumping in, I found enough like-minds to give it a try.

I had some parting words for PL that I was working on before the computer grinch pulled her down. Perhaps they were meant to be better said here, moving forward, than left where they might never be read.
