All our knowledge begins with the senses, proceeds then to the understanding, and ends with reason. There is nothing higher than reason.

How many candidates in his position would, and could, have done the social media approach at all, much less, as effectively as he did? It is still such an underrated media coup, that even we haven't fully embraced it, yet! Let Rand list the substantive Q&A topics that came to him DURING their self-important debate, and let the gatekeepers try to discount them both.

If political science were applied to the social-media advantage Rand gained here: he ought to be positioning himself much better because of it, not in spite of it.

Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place. ― Frédéric Bastiat, The Law

You concluded on such an empty observation, I felt I had to reply here, Techy.

"'Christians' do not support, 'Absolute Liberty' or we would have attained it by now. eh?" Did you know that Jesus addressed your notion directly?

Then said Jesus to those Jews that believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. - John 8:31

Messiah was teaching new disciples, who were from an intact historical AND biblical lineage: aligned with his word, then and there: that CONTINUATION in his word would prove who they were, what they would then know, and how THAT TRUTH would make them, eh?

The problem isn't that that freedom can't be found here. I dare say it is the only real place to start and actually find it. Rather, it is that continuation in his word has been abandoned by so many professing Christians; if they even bothered to read them for themselves, and pray about their implications and applications: that causes observers, like you, HVACTech, to ponder if the very faith He gave us to follow, isn't just some cleaver ruse, rather than real true life.

The ones who don't use social media like the younger crowd.

We need more old people, like the ones who watch Faux news.

Disclaimer: I'm old as dirt.

If the top tier debate, then he definitely should participate. Those guys are talking about the under card debate.  A total waste of time and energy... unless, a HUGE gathering of Rand supporters showed up outside (like they did for Ron, when the Neocons freaked out at the sight).

You mentioned Rand's "uniquely-gained, popular advantage".  That begs the question:  With whom?  Us?  Again, it wouldn't make any difference with us.  It's the majority of the FauxNews watching crowd that need to hear him and they aren't watching the kiddie table debates.

One of the things I absolutely do agree on with you is " ... what Rand did, by his effective use of available social media to pose a real dialog with the people who cared enough to access him, essentially made him the one-man winner of the real debate".

I STILL STAND WITH RAND!

to take people's political views with a grain of salt when being friends with someone, but if I knew anyone who supported Chris Christie, I'd have to reconsider.

I say this before my predictive reading of their tomes. It's not that they aren't well taught by history, and other political science dynamics: but what Rand did, by his effective use of available social media to pose a real dialog with the people who cared enough to access him, essentially made him the one-man winner of the real debate as to who we ought trust with that delegated authority.

If Dr. Paul were to posture himself accordingly, it would be to ask them how his participation in any future top-card debate events might be worth the sacrifice of his uniquely-gained, popular advantage. Playing off their debate in real time, without commercial considerations served; showed all TV/Cable gatekeepers just how badly their mighty media mind-lock is broken!

Since Martin Luther King Day is our state-sponsored celebration of the prophet they slew for his stand, perhaps this song might be appropriate posting here:  [video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-rITHSrbfg]

Lew Rockwell doesn't give a reason for his statement.  What advantage would there be in participating in the under card debate?  How has go along to get along worked so far?  Nope.  Can't see any justification for Rand to relegate himself to the kiddie table.

He presented a more paleo-Democrat message, where the other wacko's where pushing Communism. He did state the government must 'absolutely' get a warrant before gaining access to the privacy of Americans. I would never vote for him, but he's way better then Killary or the Bern .

He's real good at threatening people, been arrested many times, and always skates. I think Jack Blood and Mark Dice made one about 5yrs ago. The difference being AJ's father is a wealthy connected dentist, and Santilli was on his own. They both have some good points, when verifiable?  But, neither can be trusted with their analysis, which is exaggerated and/or misdirection.

For Rand to skip the kiddie table debate is still the best thing to do, imo.  It would be the same as admitting it's all over and the fat lady sang.  I say:  No surrender!  If Rand isn't selected for the top tier debate (where he belongs), then he should do the same thing he did last time.  What's the difference?  If he's not on the main stage, he can make his own stage, without the stooges present, where there can be intelligent discussion.  The end result would be that he stands tall and we would still Stand with Rand.

Maybe they'll have to create a new one, since those brown people probably don't speak Chinese.  We've got to get troops over there quick.  Can't have a country not subscribe to the World Bank.  McCain has another chance to continue his rabid fear mongering on the Senate floor and all over the MSN.  (sigh)
