Here are my impressions of this debate:

First, these were the lamest questions ever. To ask how many aircraft carriers, etc. blah blah and expect an answer in 2 minutes is beyond stupid. To ask if the capital gains tax should be lower or higher? Whaaa?! To ask how many campaign stickers, posters, flyers. I'm speechless. These were spectacularly dumb questions.

As far as how the candidates performed--I have to single out Gary Johnson as the goat once again. He likes a consumption tax. Here's what's wrong with a consumption tax: You have an aging populace that has paid heavy income taxes their whole lives and are now retired or about to retire. And Johnson and his ilk want to switch from an income tax to a consumption tax so all our savings get taxed all over again?Hahahaha. Not just NO! but hell no!

Doctor Feldman was a surprise to me. He can think on his feet and has a sense of humor. He was the most likable candidate.

Perry's ideas are so unworkable they're ridiculous. Boy would I like to be the guy that asks him the hard questions and watch him squirm, but the moderators were too busy asking incredibly lame stupid questions with no appropriate, or even inappropriate, follow-up questions. Too bad.

I guess Austin Peterson wins by default in a really poor field.
