2nd Amendment Just Scored One Of Its Biggest Victories In Years

JD Mon, 02/08/2016 - 14:00

The purpose of the 2nd amendment isn't for self defense, hunting, or sport shooting; The Second amendment is to protect "We the People" from a tyrannical government.

One of the fist steps of Hitler, Stallion and other Dictators is to rid the people of weapons, starting out with "we need you to register your weapons for protection."

Gun activists just had a very good day in court.

On Thursday, a divided panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit struck down Maryland’s ban on assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. In so doing, they potentially put this case on the fast track to the Supreme Court. They also risk setting off a literal arms racewhere gun makers race to sell as many exotic kinds of weapons as possible in order to expand the scope of the Second Amendment.

The case primarily turns on a few lines in the Supreme Court’s 2008 decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, its first decision holding that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to bear arms. Though Heller expanded the scope of that amendment significantly — effectively creating a whole new area of constitutional law more than two centuries after the Bill of Rights was ratified — it also held that the Constitution does not protect “a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.” The Court endorsed “the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of ‘dangerous and unusual weapons.’” And it also suggested that “weapons that are most useful in military service—M-16 rifles and the like—may be banned.”

The Constitution never authorised such power... how can a branch of government review its own laws and decide their constitutionality? That's for We, the People to decide, or the State legislatures. SCOTUS' usurpation must brought to an end. Just because it's done doesn't mean what they are doing is Constitutional. I would love someone to go before that horrid court, hold up the Constitution and ask them where their power of judicial review is listed. Force them to admit it's a power they decided to take themselves, force them to admit that from the get-go they have not followed the Constitution and that they consider it maleable in their hands. They are just another rogue branch of this now sham 'government'.

We need to educate people and a good step would be by using the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions as examples of States' right to nullify unconstitutional acts - such as SCOTUS' pretense of judicial review. When you read about that time in our very young country, how Jefferson and Madison had to hide the fact that they authored those papers because just writing those papers could land them in jail - tyranny from the get-go!

How much that time mirrors today - how we can't trust communications because of all the spying. In a letter to Madison, Jefferson pointed out the same when he wrote:

"Some late circumstances change considerably the aspect of our situation, and must affect the line of conduct to be observed. I regret it the more too, because from the commencement of the ensuing session, I shall trust the post offices with nothing confidential, persuaded that during the ensuing twelve-month they will lend their inquisitorial aid to furnish matter for new slanders. I shall send you as usual printed communications, without saying any thing confidential on them. You will of course understand the cause."

We do not study and we do not know our history well enough. The People need to be just as well armed to protect themselves from the government that develops.

Laugh. It makes you feel good.
