Saw Rand Paul Today!

BaneMaler Fri, 01/08/2016 - 13:37

Got off work early today and took the family to Iowa to see Rand Paul.  Was a whole lot of fun just traveling through the state and seeing the sights.  We caught Rand in Sioux City to a standing room only crowd with plenty of media in tow.  I was excited as well to see his wife on the trail with him.  And on top of it all it was on his birthday and he is hard at work.  Hope the party tonight is one to remember.

There were some great questions from the audience where Rand took some honest but controversial positions for Iowa like opposing ethanol mandates. He responded to a mother with a son who dislikes his stance on ethanol.  Said he was interested in freeing up the ethanol market more rather than pass out subsidies.  Get rid of regulations that limit the amount of ethanol in fuel throughout the year.   I think he excels in the Q and A and for the most part brings the understanding of his positions to the level that gets him respect of his beliefs if not winning people over completely.

Something I noticed today and maybe someone knows the answer.  Yet another person came out to ask about the 28 classified pages about 9/11.  I was glad to see that the man was respectful about the answer he received and gracious.  Is there someone whipping people up to ask this question?  Rand is their only true ally on the topic yet they are demanding he answer for his fellow Senators.  Why not ask Rubio, why not ask Cruz?

When is one of these jokers going to ask one of the other candidates if they believe the Truther line?  Just curious why target Rand.  Remember when they asked Ron about 9/11 and gave others a pass.

They also got people signed up to speak at the caucus in open precincts.  Many were game.  We all got Rand 2016 lapel pins enlisting.  Can't wait for caucus night.  We can have a huge impact if we all get involved!

Update: My wife found this video of the Q&A.  Please excuse my son talking in the background :)

The last year it really seemed to sway people as they were at least admitting the establishment sucks.  Someone needs to stand with Rand at each of these meetings.

I also noticed that Rand was speeding through his stump speech.  It was snowing hard in Iowa the other day and we were meaning to see him in Council Bluffs but were going to be late.  We ended up grabbing lunch during the event and raced up to Sioux City to see him there.  What impressed me is that even though we were booking it we were late to the second event too but Rand and his team must have been hauling around the state.  After the press conference concluding his visit they were running out the door again.  This man is really putting a lot of work in and should be recognized for his efforts.

Peace

I don't completely understand. If there are 1681 precincts in Iowa and Rand has secured 1000+ precinct captains, does that mean that he has secured the majority of precincts?  Seems to good to be true.

I so much prefer the caucus. Heck, remember that one guy at the Sheldon Adelson causcus in Vegas for Ron Paul...and CNN cut him off

It seems like Rand is putting it in high gear lately. It seems to be paying off.  He really needs to elevate and break through the media bias. He is a hard worker. He has done a lot of interviews lately.  He comes off as likable, sincere and reasonable.

Also Eleanor May, Rand's National Press Secretary, tweeted tonight that they have 1,007 precinct captains already for the caucus.
