I like this site. Its heart is in the right place...

I'm a new user here trying to find my way in the liberty cyber-world after the crash of the Daily Paul and Popular Liberty sites (to which I was addicted)..

I'll be checking out different ideas but this is my new home - at least for now.

It's pretty intuitive, plus there seems to be some good liberty news here in the style of the sites I was used to..

I do feel there's room to grow here as so many ex-Paulites have been scattered to the winds.

So I'll be spreading the word that "acalltopaul" is good stuff!

Thank you, PawnStorm12

P.S.

In case wondered how I got my user-name, it's a CHESS term wherein the lowly pawns storm the opposite side (en masse)..

Many may die in the swarm, but in the process they often crack open the enemy defenses, making way for an advancement into the inner sanctum and eventual checkmate.

But it's risky because if you don't succeed, you will likely lose the game due to big losses of material (mere pawns though they may be).

WE are the pawns storming the enemies of liberty.

The number 12 signifies Ron Paul's July 12th, 2008 march on Washington D.C. to let them know that even though Dr. Paul ended his campaign for president by then, we who love liberty were still a force to be reckoned with.

Are we still a force???

Sadly, sometimes I wonder.

...along with the others I have noticed making their journey here.

I hope we all have another good "run"...
I am grateful for the journey that the DP took me on, and its subsequent website PL was a relief after Mayor Nystrom turned off the DP's lights.
BUT:
It never quite was the same, and although I noticed MN's early involvement with PL, that eventually seemed to diminish.
When one considers the HUGE payoff that Jesse Benton received....well then consider this:
I only learned of Mike Nystrom by viewing a Tom Woods video.
Michael came across as a sincere, enthusiastic supporter who was giving it his "best shot" at something (or someone) that he, like the rest of us REALLY believed in.....Ron Paul.
And for all that work and time that Michael expended??
It seems that he and Tom Woods could have been shown much more gratitude.
MY gratitude towards Michael's "endeavors" will continue all the days of my life....
...And I am extremely grateful to be here.
Grateful to our new host.....
Grateful to see all the familiar screen names I've come to "know" (in some small way or another) at the old DP and PL...and now HERE.
Bless you all....it's like coming home again.

I like the name.  Didn't know the explanation.  However, if you think about it a certain way, it's almost like a euphemism for "pyrrhic victory" (which is obviously less good).  Ideally we won't have to go through something like that.

I always wondered what your name meant.  Not being a chess player, I assumed it had something to do with pawn shops.

I wonder the same thing.  I came to this movement a little late.  I look back at all the archived videos of the 2008 Ron Paul campaign and liberty movement and wonder is it still alive?  If not, how do we revive it?

I'll never forget what a pawn storm is now.  The little guy against great odds using their numbers to upset the more powerful pieces.  .
