I don't think arming teachers is a good idea.
There are plenty of videos on YouTube where a student strikes a teacher for one reason or another. Wouldn't that put the teacher in a different frame of mind and go for the gun?
I really support the idea of armed veterans protecting our children. Although they could not act as fast to a sudden bit of chaos in a classroom but they can stop a mass shooting.

Trump proposed arming teachers on February 21 and has reiterated the proposal every day since.
