Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) used an April 2 Fox News Live appearance to announce that she is preparing to introduce legislation to create a federal law allowing firearm confiscation orders.
Such laws, generally referred to as Extreme Risk Protection Orders, are already in place in California, Indiana, Oregon, and other states, and Dingell believes the ability to seize firearms is crucial for pubic safety.

Huntington Beach, Calif., Mayor Mike Posey said his city is suing California over its recent sanctuary state law, believing it to be unconstitutional.

“I think last night we made history in that Huntington Beach is the first city in California to sue the state of California for the constitutional overreach of SB 54,” Posey said on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday.

The White House plans to reduce the size of the $1.3 trillion spending bill President Donald Trump signed into law in March using an obscure part a 1974 budget law.

The White House will send a “rescission” request to Congress when members return from spring recess next week, according to The Washington Post.

The Department of Justice sued California Monday over a law that allows the state to block any federal land transfer with in the state.

Under state law Senate Bill 50, the California State Lands Commission has the authority to refuse any federal buying or selling of land within California’s borders. The state can also take over the exchange and purchase the land itself in the event of a sale, or it can find another buyer for the land.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky claimed Tuesday on “Fox & Friends” that Congress will only call for votes if they already know the outcome in advance.

Paul was discussing immigration reform and said Congressional leaders had promised him an “open debate,” but did everything they could to stifle his proposed amendments.

President Donald Trump threatened to cut foreign aid to Honduras over a caravan of its citizens seeking to illegal enter the U.S. via the Mexico border.

The President also took aim at the Mexican government, who by and large failed to stop the caravan from trespassing through its territory until the U.S. government began responding officially. Trump has threatened to end NAFTA negotiations and pull out of the deal over the Mexican government’s conduct.

Seattle police have lawfully confiscated 27 firearms from residents since July 2017 thanks to the help of a new “Extreme Risk Protection Order.”

Washington is one of six states (California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana and Oregon) with red flag laws. 18 other states, and the District of Columbia, have proposed adopting similar measures in the wake of the Parkland shooting.
