U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has said that Venezuela is a threat to the US.

On a trip to Latin America, Pence told reporters on Monday that Venezuela is “collapsing into dictatorship,” and that “a failed state” threatens American security.

A Charlottesville police officer has come forward to express his anger at being told to “stand down” by the city mayor during violent clashes between protestors. He also claims the protests, which pitched “white supremacists” against members of Antifa, were “set up” to further the agenda of the elites.

President Donald Trump asked Tuesday if the “alt-left” bears some responsibility for the violence at a Charlottesville protest led by white supremacists.

“What about the alt-left that came charging at, as you say, the alt-right?” Trump asked the group of media. “Do they have any semblance of guilt?”

“What about the fact they came charging with clubs in their hands, swinging clubs. Do they have any problem?” he continued. “I think they do.”

President Trump on Tuesday defended some of the protesters who rallied this weekend against the removal of a Robert E. Lee statute from a park in downtown Charlottesville, Va.

In a contentious back and forth with reporters, Trump argued with the logic of removing Confederate statues by pointing to the slave-owning history of Founding Fathers like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

The Democrats and the mainstream media are seizing the issues surrounding the violence in Charlottesville to depict Republicans and conservatives as “crazy, racist nutbags,” says Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

“The media and the Democrats, to the surprise of no one, [are] demagoguing this issue and using it for political advantage,” Cruz said in a radio interview Tuesday on the Mark Davis Show.
