WhatsApp Refused To Install Backdoor For British Government

Creators of the WhatsApp messaging service repeatedly refused to comply with demands by the UK government to install a secret backdoor in its software.

According to an anonymous security source, the British government pressured the makers of WhatsApp in a meeting last summer to allow them to secretly spy on citizens – saying that they needed to do so in order to combat terrorism.

Alabama Senator Luther Strange’s campaign finance chair, Thompson Tractor CEO Mike Thompson, is listed on federal tax documents as an officer of the nonprofit Alliance for Jobs, which federal prosecutors say was used to bribe former Alabama state Representative Oliver Robinson, who pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges this month, AL.com’s Kyle Whitmire and John Archibald report.

Pennsylvania Democratic Rep. Matt Cartwright said Tuesday night that John McCain will make “good choices” on Obamacare repeal because he is “staring death in the face,” a video obtained by the Daily Caller reveals.

“Something tells me McCain, he’s staring death in the face right now, so he’s probably going to make good choices. He’s not going to bend to political pressure,” Cartwright told a town hall audience at Scheller Center at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Tamaqua, PA.

Poll: Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan Hit New Lows with Republicans

The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows that Republicans are increasingly dissatisfied with their leaders in Congress.
Only 36 percent of Republican voters say they are satisfied with House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, while 59 percent are dissatisfied, according to the poll.

McConnell suffers the most, as 25 percent of Republicans have a negative impression of the Senate Majority Leader while only 17 percent have a positive impression.
