President Donald Trump reacted further to Roy Moore’s loss in the Alabama special election on Tuesday.
He reminded voters that he endorsed Sen. Luther Strange who Moore beat in the Republican primary.

“The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election,” he wrote on Twitter. “I was right!”

But Trump acknowledged that Moore fought hard.

Demands recount if results within half percentage point, per Alabama law

According to Ballotpedia.org: “Under Alabama state law, a recount is automatically ordered when a candidate wins by no more than 0.5 percent of all votes cast for the office. Automatic recounts must begin within 72 hours after results are certified.”

The Moore representative also indicated military ballots had still not been counted.

Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore’s campaign barred Washington Post reporters from an election night event Tuesday, according to CNN host Brian Stelter.

Stelter claims that reporters were denied credentials and simply told “no” when they lobbied for access.
