I was listening to Beth Ann this morning as she was ranting about passage of the $1.3T Omnibus bill and lamenting about the hopelessness of dealing with political puppets. During her rant, I couldn't help think about other people who feel disenfranchised with the political process so much that they no longer vote. If ballots don't work, then its bullets, unfortunately. No one, including myself, wants to go there, though.

The House passed a $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill on Thursday, sending it on its way for a vote in the Senate ahead of a midnight Friday deadline to avoid a government shutdown.
But whether House members read the bill or if members of the Senate will be able to read it before a vote seems unlikely, if not impossible. The 2,232-page Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018 is 944 pages longer than the Gutenberg Bible.

Immigration agents and sheriff’s deputies broke up an illegal cockfighting ring in Arkansas over the weekend, arresting more than 100 people including several suspected illegal immigrants, federal officials announced Thursday.

The raid, which took place in Sevier County, Ark., on Saturday, was the culmination of an 18-month investigation, according to Sevier County Sheriff Robert Gentry.

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence voted along party lines on Thursday to formally end the panel’s Russia investigation and to release a report about the probe to the rest of Congress.

The 150-page report will now undergo a classification review by the intelligence community to determine what information must be redacted in the document. After it goes to Congress, the report will be made public. That is expected to happen within the next several weeks.
