President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump traveled to Corpus Christi, Texas, for a briefing on the state’s efforts to rescue victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The storm briefing took place at the Annaville Fire Department, as hundreds of Texans lined the streets to welcome him with chants of “USA!,” “Texas for Trump,” “We Love Trump,” “Texas Strong,” and “We Love Trump!”

After spotting the crowd, Trump stood on a ladder and waved the Texas flag.

Chicago public schools unveiled their plan to teach 8th and 10th grade students about a police torture case as part of a 2015 reparations package, the school system announced Monday.

The lesson plan, known as the Burge Reparation Curriculum, will focus on former Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge and the accusations he tortured black men to get false confessions from them during the ’80s and ’90s, reports ABC7 Chicago.

Melania stepped off of Air Force One in Texas Tuesday afternoon looking ready to get down to business and offer a helping hand to victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The first lady departed the White House wearing an all black ensemble with a military green jacket, high heels and Aviator sunglasses for the flight. Many were quick to criticize her for her shoe choice, but it looks like she already planned to change clothes for the trip.

Democrat Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner refused to issue evacuation orders for the city’s 2.3 million residents, even after Governor Greg Abbott had advised Texans to do so.

Despite Governor Abbott issuing a state of disaster declaration last Wednesday for Harris and 29 other Texas counties, Mayor Turner did not warn, inform or urge citizens to leave the area, parts of which have now been catastrophically devastated by over 30 inches of rain.

HOUSTON, Texas — Members of the Louisiana Cajun Navy were ordered to stand down from rescue efforts after members were shot at during an attempted robbery.

A message on the group’s Facebook page stated that the team members are safe after looters fired shots at them during an attempt to rob them and steal their boat.
