As the NFL’s feud with President Trump continues to dominate headlines, a feud which has effectively turned ESPN into a politically-themed talk show, the league has decided to recruit additional talent to “provide crisis communications counsel to leagues executives.”

Steelers’ President Art Rooney II penned a panicked letter to Steelers fans after the team didn’t show up to the field during the National Anthem before a game on Sunday.

Rooney was responding to the scores of Steelers’ fans posting videos on YouTube of them burning their Steelers gear and vowing never to support the team ever again.

“The intentions of Steelers players were to stay out of the business of making political statements by not taking the field,” wrote Rooney.

Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon reportedly said during a Monday night rally in Alabama that the Republican establishment faces a “day of reckoning.”

“For Mitch McConnell and Ward Baker and Karl Rove and Steven Law — all the instruments that tried to destroy Judge Moore and his family — your day of reckoning is coming,” Bannon told the crowd, according to Politico.

On another night of NFL players ‘taking a knee’, CNN and MSNBC featured programming and guests devoted to openly calling President Trump a racist white supremacist, with separate talking heads saying that the President wants to see black people as slaves ‘kneeling in cotton fields’.

Al Sharpton’s MSNBC broadcast featured former Chicago Bulls player Craig Hodges, who leveled an incredible accusation, even by the network’s usually OTT standards.

Data released by the FBI shows that the violent crime rate in the U.S. is up for the second year in a row. Most of the increase is occurring in Democratic-run metropolises like Baltimore and Chicago.

The murder rate is still better than it was in the ‘80s and ‘90s, but the FBI data showed the last time violent crime increased in consecutive years was in 2005 and 2006.
