I wouldn't recommend this for growing strawberries in the northern states outside.  You'll lose your plants in sub zero temps and have to start over at nothing.  Done that.  Anyway this is good info so I shared it since she just posted it today and I keep my eye out for good gardening idears - Jed.

Do you just tip water in to the soil at the top or water each plant?

Or do you tip water down the centre pipe so it runs out the holes and into the soil......can you fill it with plant material as well as water?

I note you had holes in the bottom of bucket...how do you collect the water as it passes through and reuse it?
