Putin: US Downing Of Syrian Plane An ‘Act Of War’

Russian President Vladimir Putin has slammed the US downing of a Syrian government military jet on Sunday as a clear “act of war” against Russia.

Speaking on behalf of the Russian President, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov accused Washington of breaching international law by stopping Syrian forces from completing their mission against ISIS. According to Ryabkov, the U.S. has displayed a clear allegiance to ISIS.

“What is it then, if not an act of aggression, an act directly in breach of international law,” Ryabkov told journalists.

“If you want, it’s actually help for the terrorists the US is fighting, declaring that they are conducting a counterterrorism policy,” he added.
