A professor called Trump’s election an ‘act of terrorism.’ She reaps what she sews

For weeks now, nightmares have been jolting Olga Perez Stable Cox awake several hours before sunrise. Sometimes she’s able to fall back asleep, but more often she finds herself lying in the dark, body tossing and thoughts racing, until she’s reduced to tears.

The morning offers fleeting distractions but no permanent relief — a cup of coffee, some Christmas decorating, maybe a phone call from concerned friends.

But the blinds in her home will remain closed, her door will remain locked and the formerly outgoing professor — a woman who has always thrived by connecting with others — will spend another day isolated by fear, weeping, too scared to walk outside.

Was not giving a public speech. She was not exposing her noxious viewpoints to public scrutiny and yet received it anyway.

Nor should a viewpoint, regardless of how ill-informed, ever result in a death threat, let alone hundreds which some also included pictures of her home.

This is all entirely unacceptable and at no level should be considered "just desserts" by us or anyone.

Her viewpoints should have been countered in the same way she offered them, verbally without threats of physical harm. Anyone who says otherwise, is not based in principle but still subservient to the "my team is always right" mentality that the left is usually responsible for.

I would like to add that it is cowardly, yes cowardly, to record her and post the contents of that video instead of confronting her in class. If this student was confident of his opinions and found hers so repulsive, his DUTY was to stand up and counter them immediately with his own arguments. His choice was that if a simpering idiot by recording her secretly and then posting it to basically have a mob attack her. It is not a proportional or brave response. Now, if he had stood up to her, I would have at least a small amount of respect for him.

The term "snowflake" doesn't just apply to the idiot left but also to the idiot and cowardly right.

Loved the way you broke it down. Perhaps an extracurricular club in schools would be a wonderful suggestion. Parents don't have time to teach technique. Schools, well there's a lot of discussion that could happen about a curriculum on conflict resolution or learning how to debate a point. Perhaps the kid was acting on impulse.

Thanks for that.

This poser got exposed for what she really is a SJW, with artificial intelligence..
Good for the kid, we need to expose all these phonies ..
What value is she teaching to the students, what good is she bringing to her school or this country, now that is what we need to debate here, not condemning the kid for video taping her ..

This was a gutless, mindless and heartless reaction to her views, on so many levels. I could see two reasonable responses, and he chose neither. 1)Confront her immediately in class with his own arguments, or 2) do the research and confront her later,in class, with the whole case. As it is, he incited threats of violence, showing he is actually *worse* than she.

You added a second response that hadn't occurred to me. You are absolutely right, if he needed to step away to research his response, that would have been just as valid.

And I love that Proverbs quote.
