No discrimination just a reality. The bubbly economy where I grew up during the 50's gave a place for beautiful, clean and safe communities where children were able to walk to their friends houses and play on the streets, ride their bicycles to the nearby park and enjoy being outside. We didn't lock our doors the minute we walked into our homes. It is a life to be desired today in that same community.

The gov. started this experiment of integrating the people. Pixie dust of equality sprinkled high rise condominiums subsidized by HUD Section 8 rentals. Soon enough communities saw high rise of theft, constant police sirens and drug addicted zombies standing by traffic lights with a jar in hand begging for pennies to buy their drug or alcohol of choice.

Many communities have been abandoned, iron gates and bars on windows. Noisy sounds of alarms going off pollute the air of safety where we grew up. A home that was valued at $300,000 not long ago; today barely appraises at $100,000. Police don't bother to show up when citizens call unless there's a dead body product of bullets no one ever hears or sees who, when and how it happened. A dead body or 2 on the sidewalk or streets tells the cops it's ok to show up and write a report. A call to the coroner's office and a little TV time which will ensure citizens paranoia. Keep me safe dear gov. Keep me safe. And that's what we get with all this equality and fair sharing.

The free market created a sprawling industry of creative/decorative iron bars on windows, doors, gates and fences. Automatic remote controlled gates to get into your property became the norm. Alarm and private security companies make a bundle and now with the innovation of live on demand monitoring with cameras and phone operators watching over when the owners come home. But that doesn't matter even so since the prowlers leaned to spray paint the watchful eye of all those cameras.

Some subdivisions created a home owners association that collected fees to build a concrete fence with barb wire on top hidden by beautiful shrubbery around the entire perimeter with an attendant in a bullet proof, air conditioned office who operates the gate and demands a sticker on the windshield or a show of ID if not a resident. With pen in hand to log in the visitors' ID and cameras recording the visitor is allowed in to the compound. And even so, since the watchman earns minimum wage and probably lives in one of those Sect. 8 equality sharing towers some get through and theft, murder and rape still happen.

So, for all that merging of economic classes the once free and fence less middle class gets to pay to be jailed in for safety and the rest roam around planning the best procedure to circumvent all that paid for security that protects the camera, TV and diamonds that will be stolen and sold for pennies that will pay for the next hit of who knows what drug that will feed the pain they live every single day.

Merging communities the way the economy under performs today is not the answer. A supply of education and training for today's economic temperature is the way. Real education that delivers skills needed TODAY. High schools still graduate people that can't read, write or understand math. Colleges are revenue machines without purpose.

Suggestion to all those that claim the merger of economic classes is the answer 1) start on your own house and rent a room or 2 through Section 8 then 2) take your neighbors house demolish it and build a 20 story high building and live next door 3) after you experience that then think how much you like it. Treat others how you like to be treated.

And yes, I'm angered that the property my parents worked so hard for has lost all equity thanks to EQUALITY and fair share sold by the privileged master planners. The day we abandon my parents legacy because no one wants to buy it the windows, plumbing,iron bars and fixtures will be stripped and sold by those who were offered fair share of equality. All we will share are memories and experiences of yesterdays. That's all we take with us after all. At the end, the master planners still live privilege untouched.
