Did Prince Pay the Price, or Some Pauper?
Surfing YouTube for some significant historical events that might help us interpret the times we are in, I found this recent posting of an interview with Jim Caviezel; the actor who played the role of Jesus in The Passion of The Christ. In it, he tells us of what lead up to his taking the role, how he dealt with his own inner conflicts over it, how he physically, (though willingly),suffered near death during the filming, and was even struck by lightning while on the cross!
Muhammad taught that it wasn't Jesus who was crucified, but Judas, made to look like Jesus. While Caviezel didn't bring that up, I'm putting that perspective in, here, for us to contrast what he went through in making this movie, and what that lead him to offer us all, from his unique experiences. So, was it Jesus, or Judas, that Jim portrayed so well? Paid in Full, or folly played?
And yes, I know I'm stealing a little attention from the artist, formerly known as, Prince: but I have to believe that even he would agree that the Prince of life, as Peter named him, is of much greater worth than he.
