Will President Trump Accept [Disastrous] Negotiated Border Compromise? - Washington Examiner

"The deal is likely to cover far fewer miles than Trump wants, however, and the barriers will be far less robust than the steel slat wall Trump favors.

Shelby would not disclose whether Trump would agree to less than the $5.7 billion he has requested for border barriers, or a wall, as he calls it. But he hinted Trump may be willing to make a deal on price."

I certainly hope President Trump does NOT accept a deal even remotely close to this current compromise. Nearly all of these corrupt congressional critters negotiating this compromise want President Trump off the ballot in 2020. President Trump needs to stand his ground on the wall (formidable barrier) or he'll have much worse, likely irreconcilable, problems on his hands. The way forward for the POTUS and the USA is at LEAST $6B for a wall or a declaration of national emergency to get the job done correctly.

Personally, I'd ONLY accept a terrible compromise like this current proposal IF the POTUS intended to concomitantly declare a state of national emergency as well. Then, I'd take the freshly baked cake into a corner and munch away. Don't be suckered by this current deal, President Trump.

Even if POTUS accepts the deal; under current law he still can build the wall, without declaring a national emergency. We're  currently seeing reports of where the wall is going up right now in differnt states along the boarder.

Current construction is based on former appropriations. Unfortunately, it DOES matter since a majority of people assess candidates on public perception which the mass media manipulates. When states no longer allow straight-party voting and eliminate party affiliation of candidates on ballots, maybe it won't matter as much. The vast majority of President Trump's supporters clearly want a formidable physical barrier and compromise on the barrier will be viewed as betrayal, something President Trump once said that he'd NEVER do. So yes, it DOES matter if he accepts a disastrous compromise.
