How to add a photo?
I'm not sure if we can do that or if only Anne can add a photo to a linked Internet article? I've noticed that the accompanying photo shows up as part of the post after I post the inital link to the story.
Let me add a bit more.
Photos generally won't post larger than 400px wide. So if the photo is larger than that, when you embed it, it will get distorted. So until i get the replacement site up, adjusting the size will have to be done manually.
Ok so how to post a picture:
When an article has a picture attached you can right click on that image and select "view image"
this will take you to the image URL address. copy that address into this code between the two quotation marks
Now because the image might be the wrong size and often it is, you need to scale it down (eventually the web site will do it for you but right now it doesn't)
So if you simply add these two segments---- width="400" height="225"
right before the last carrot (>) you can set the size yourself.
don't go over 400 for the width but you should scale the height accordingly. So either use ratio's and a calculator, or if you missed that day in math class, just used your best estimate and adjust it a few times.
posting videos are very similar. Most videos will give you an embed code if you look at the share link. Simply pasting it into the message box sometimes is all that is required. However, if it is too big (bigger than say 500px wide) just look at the code you pasted closely and look for size numbers. You can change those numbers to change the size of the video.
Most times if you use "500" for the width and "281" for the height, it will come out proportional.
One last thing on videos. Sometimes there are two sets of numbers within the code. One for the shell of the player and one for the video itself. Change BOTH sets of numbers and you'll be golden.
Eventually I will have posting tips page up that will illustrate all of this with pictures or videos to explain it to whomever needs to refer to it.
For now though, I hope that helps :)

Would I be correct in assuming that you were just using the quotation marks around the width/height dimensions example in order to draw attention to the numbers rather than needing to actually type them in when adding them to the URL address?
I'm sorry that I am so clueless on this.
.
I see you left a comment at a post I created where I asked the same thing. After a while I finally remembered the code for the DP and executed here and voilà! it worked.
It's
xxxxxx = the .jpg link to the photo.
Bonus!
Here's how you create hyper-text or clickable text.
Like here is a link to something

It ain't about "What You Got"; it's "What You DO" with what you got.
I'm sill trying to figure out how to reshape the pics so they fit better.

.
1. use "filtered" and not plain for your text format
2. make sure there are quotes around the link
3. make sure the whole line ends (and begins) in a carrot--- >
4. Finally, if you edit your post you will see how I aslo added size parameters.
Once you get it, it will be easy.

too before I posted but it didn't seem to work for me when I tried to preview it, meaning I couldn't open up the link.
Anyway, I will try again using the correct text choice.
