Ron Paul: I wouldn't support Trump as GOP nominee

ecard71 Wed, 02/24/2016 - 19:20

Three-time candidate for president Ron Paul said Wednesday he does not like any of the remaining GOP candidates in the 2016 race, and would not support Donald Trump if he were to win the Republican nomination.

Trump has been able to tap into the anger and fear of a large "minority" of voters, Paul told CNBC's "Squawk Box." He said the billionaire businessman acts like he has all the answers but "zero" realistic solutions to the problems facing the nation.

"I hear the ability of politicians to capitalize on the worries," the libertarian Republican continued. "They're able to use the blame game." Paul served 12 terms as a U.S. congressman from Texas.

Paul admitted that Trump has the momentum in the early contests, but said there's a long road of primaries and caucuses before the GOP's nominating convention in July.

The race for the White House has become "Trump-ism versus Sander-ism," said Paul, referring to Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders. He said both approaches are "not a whole lot different" in their wrongheadedness.

"Sanders wants to make the government bigger and Trump WANTS TO BE the government."

of the guy interviewing Ron? I went back and watched it several times and his left eye is blatantly reptilian. Is it not?

If Ron follows the same Rothbardian philosophy he should be looking at Trump as a populist, which Lew states 'all the real bad guys hate', giving him credence for support? Trump, has hit on many views Ron promotes Iraq war was wrong, our policing the world hasn't worked and must end, the trade policies are rigged for the very few, Wall Street is a corrupt system, the tax system is destructive for growth, and the Fed needs to be audited.

Trump, knows he has to play the security complex game, because the people have been brainwashed into it. The difference between Rand's 'game playing' and Trump's, Rand has insider intelligence, making it much more difficult to say he didn't know the facts, where Trump can say he has determined we have been grossly lied to? I stated long ago, unless, Rand, could figure out how to be a populist, he would never get past the 'gatekeepers' powered by the World Zionists?

Trump's a gamble, but like Lew stated 'we know the others will bring 100% evil, but Trump could do some good'? Trump's the only person left who doesn't want to challenge Russia militarily and wants to have peaceful negotiations with Putin. It comes down to Trump or a real possibility of WWIII?

I saw a great many "supposed" Freedom Lovers and Libertarians throw their full support behind Trump the moment he announced the border wall and the rapist Mexican comment. Even after Trump kept sticking his foot in his mouth(?) and kept stating how he would assassinate Snowden (or anyone else) without a trial, was in favor of Eminent Domain, wanted boots on the ground in the Middle East, and the many other Anti-Liberty stances he chose, many former Ron Paul "supposed" Liberty Lovers threw all those beliefs out the window in favor of the border wall. That ALONE pushed their scale in Trumps favor. Many comments were in the same vein as; "He (Trump) says what we're all thinking and he'll get it done". Really??? If it's one thing Trump's managed to successfully do is to grandiosely claim promises that are virtually impossible to fulfill (snake oil salesman) and continuously not elaborate on "HOW" he would accomplish such tasks other than loudly bragging; "BIGGER, LOUDER, BETTER - ARGHHH HULK SMASH EVIL CHINA". To Trumps credit, he's clearly stated that we need to isolate ourselves from "evil" Mexico and "evil" China.

Add to that fact that we happen to be in a point in time where ANY police shooting on a black person is considered racist, which in turn, is pushed heavily by the media as a racist act to further fuel the fires of "police vs blacks" (never mind that the majority of police shooting are against whites). So far, Trump has been the only one to strongly promote the police on a couple of national debates - when the question was not even raised. Makes you wonder.

As a further testament to the racist "theory", there are many videos and articles on Trump supporters saying and committing racist acts. ONLY Trump supporters. The only other person that had racist "ties" in recent history was Ron Paul with those BS letters that weren't written by him, and the donations from the KKK that he decided to keep. What was NOT widely reported was how he fought for and won the release of an incarcerated black woman, or how he waived a black man's fees in a time when black/white marriages were heavily frowned upon in the South. That was kept quiet by the media. Ron was the answer to many racists that dreamed of segregating America. Ron was the only politician back then talking about ending welfare and handouts to illegals as well as ending funding to sanctuary cities. Whether you agree with it or not, do you think that attracted any specific demographic of the population? Now Trump has become that answer to many.

I also posted a reply to this post http://www.acalltopaul.com/node/1277 which I have copied over to here:

"Somehow "Top Libertarian" and Lew Rockwell don't have the same meaning for me as before. I lost A LOT of respect for Lew when he decided to publish this condescending open letter to Rand: https://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blog/an-open-letter-to-rand-paul/

Did he have a better idea or candidate to promote liberty? He didn't help the liberty cause any by doing it. He effectively tried to hurt Rand.

The jury's still out in his involvement in Ron's newsletter(s) controversy. Ron took moral responsibility because they appeared under his name and slipped through under his watch, whereas Lew, could AND should have as well - but that would've take courage and moral integrity. So he let Ron take the ENTIRE blame, effectively damaging Ron's campaign.

That's TWICE he's hurt the Paul's. Thanks Lew. You're "obviously" a real friend to liberty. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.....

Think about the racist newsletters and if he was indeed the ghostwriter how telling it would be that he finds Trump especially attractive. Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out but it just occured to me.

I am sure it bothered Lew that Ron didnt run as fiery as he did as the LP candidate and as seen on the Morten Downey Jr. show.

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

ghost writer, Ron would have known about it, and they are still friends, which to me indicates that Lew must not have been the ghost writer. I thoroughly agree that publishing that attack on Rand on LRC.com was very bad, and I don't understand it. As far as Lew "being bothered" by Ron not running as fiery as he did on Morton Downey Jr. when he was the LP candidate; how can you presume that he was; it was in 1988, Ron was 20 years younger then.
