I tried to post a new topic three times and each time the entire post and the subject line was erased when I tried to preview what I had written.

I know that the cite has been under maintenance for bugs but is anyone having this trouble at this point?

to post a new topic and the last time I decided to not try the preview but just save it. But even after I did that, it still didn't show up on the website until much later on. I have no idea why this happened.

or comments for that matter. Certainly People could be but I'm not aware of it. For now, If you get a "Internal Server Error" even when you just posted something, just hit refresh. It generally takes regardless.

I think because this site had be thrown up so fast without any real testing, and because I was trying to adjust things as we went, it has made the site more buggy than it should have been.

So I have formulated a new approach...something I should have done from the start.

I'm going to create a new site (it will look pretty much the same as this one with the same URL) Import all users, posts, media, and comments into it and put it in the place of this one. Then I'm going to create a testing site where I can test new improvements before taking them live. This way no one has to experience errors or interruption in posting.

This will take a bit of work but in the end everything should be streamlined and run smoother.

You live and learn I guess. I can tell you what, Ive learned a ton in the last two months.

I can't seem to get to the bottom of why this is happening. ...needle in the haystack kind of thing.

I'll keep looking for the answer here, but meanwhile I'll make a new site structure as well as a test site.

hang in there and keep trying. We will get it sorted out soon.

I just got the Content Encoding Error: "The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression."

Like FreeYourMind, I normally have to make a few attempts for something to get through without an error. On a positive note, the voting issue seems to have been resolved (at least on my end).

Did you and your friend rule out any malicious attack? I notice the problems surfaced coincidentally after the voting poll, and after the user that wished death on law enforcement was banned. Godspeed with this headache.

There seems to be a problem in the code itself. My friend looked around and saw a couple of minor issues right off the bat that I was able to fix. However, because base problem is like finding a needle in a haystack, he said it would be quicker if I just rebuild and transfer the users and the posts/comments over to the newly built site. I can do this all under the same URL name so it's not a move.

Anyway,that's my new focus of attack.

To prevent this in the future, I'll have a separate test site to test out new changes before they are implemented so that the main site can remain error free.

I think everything just happened so fast with Popular Liberty going down and me trying to get everything ready for people, that resulted in a bunch of changes on a live site. And, that in turn, caused residual code and errors.

Anyway, the root problem remains elusive but rebuilding the site would decidedly end the problem.

So, I still have a lot of work to do this weekend.

Thanks for putting up with the errors for now. I know they are annoying.

I forgot to also mention that during the three times I tried to post, I also got a 404 but I wasn't trying to post anything that was anymore provocative than anything else I've already seen posted on this site. Btw, this has happened to me on another site when I tried to post a few news articles on the Boston Bombing and Sandy Hook and bringing up some interesting facts that question whether these events were possible false flags.

me too. I've learned to appreciate something a lot of us take for granted. Sort of like driving a car. We do not comprehend how it works but we learn how to drive. Thank you for the effort and work that it takes to make things look and feel smooth. So what if it crashes. Live and learn that's all there is to do in this life as that's the only thing we take with us.
