SESSIONS WILL END POLICY THAT ALLOWED LEGALIZED MARIJUANA TO PROSPER

JD Thu, 01/04/2018 - 11:39

Attorney General Jeff Sessions will roll back an Obama-era policy that gave states leeway to allow marijuana for recreational purposes.

Two sources with knowledge of the decision confirmed to The Hill that Sessions will rescind the so-called Cole memo, which ordered U.S. attorneys in states where marijuana has been legalized to deprioritize prosecution of marijuana-related cases.
The Associated Press first reported the decision.

Sessions, a vocal critic of marijuana legalization, has hinted for months that he would move to crack down on the growing cannabis market.

The dirty federal government should stay the hell out of our private lives and social issues.

If we want a free society then people should be free to make personal decisions (good or bad) without the nanny state federal government's permission.

If Sessions tries sending federal agents into state pot stores there will be blood in the streets.

I don't even use pot but I voted for it in Washington State because I don't believe in imprisoning people for their choice of substance use.

I'll bet hypocrite Sessions goes home and has drinks every night while overruling the will of the people who voted to allow marijuana use in their state.

Just another REPUBLICAN HYPOCRITE PIECE OF CRAP.

The attorney general enforces the laws that he has authority over. He does this with investigations, direction of his staff, lawsuits and criminal prosecutions, etc. The President has a much greater amount of authority. He is the attorney general's boss. He chooses the attorney general. He can remove the attorney general.

Trump is the one who picked establishment people. Trump could at any time tell them to stop if he disagreed, or even fire them. He hasn't, and he won't. The Nixon-Clinton-Trump cabal is the establishment.
