Let's throw salt on Rand's wound - The Daily Show

ecard71 Tue, 02/02/2016 - 20:56

So The Daily Show is now apparently following in Fox's footsteps by replacing 5th place Rand with 6th place Jeb. So much for that man crush Noah supposedly had. Hypocrites of 2012.

Last night hurt - A LOT! I felt completely let down by my fellow Americans and the height of ignorance they demonstrated. I AM NOT optimistic. I was honestly expecting no less than 3rd. If the polling was accurate, Rand only received 8,481 votes. Not even the 10,000 students showed! About 1,200,000 phone calls were made - not much effect was shown there. I hate to be a downer, but facts are facts. Either Rand's message is not getting out there, or people are too damn stupid and simply don't care.

If people are siding with Cruz for being the "Liberty/Religion" candidate or Trump for being the "Anti-Establishment" candidate, then Rand needs to start pointing out what NON Liberty/Religion & NON Anti Establishment candidates they are. He really needs to start attacking Cruz on his ties to the banks and to the establishment (NSA/FED). He needs to do it more aggressively and humiliating. He also needs to point out to the voters, like he did Christie ("If you want your WW3 candidate"/Bridgegate) in a way that the regular voter/viewer at home can actually understand and APPLY how stupid it is to associate Cruz with Liberty and Religion, or Trump with Anti Establishment and Leadership. I know this is not popular, but I would go as far as to psychologically make it embarrassing to admit in public that you support Trump or Cruz for the things they've said or done. "You support a racist, a candidate that declares his followers are too stupid to NOT vote for him if he were to shoot someone in public, and want to elect someone that's too afraid to handle questioning from a journalist?" "Are you really going to support someone that didn't disclose loans from the big corporate banks for fear that it might not look right in voters eyes? Someone who's practically married to Goldman Sachs?"

My main gripe with Ron was that he was too nice and gentlemanly to attack the other candidates. Too classy for politics. Rand may be attacking, but he needs to do it in a way that will humiliate the other candidates and make the public really think twice about the "core reasons" they are supporting their candidate. He needs to call out the voters as well, and get the AVERAGE NON INFORMED voter thinking; "Gee, I didn't know that about Cruz/Trump/Rubio. Rand's right, that's not very Religious/Anti-Establishment/Presidential/Etc". Eventually getting them to the point of making the voter feel shame or embarrassed to publicly state support for them.

I know this is not a "popular" tactic, but this is what the AVERAGE voter responds to. They vote because he's the 1st "Black" president. She's the 1st "Woman" president. He's "Presidential". I like him, and what he has to say, BUT "HE CAN'T WIN", so I won't "throw my vote away". This is what we - the informed - are up against. And unfortunately, MANY, not all, but MANY don't listen to logic as evidenced last night and in the past elections. I bet you MOST of those Hillary voters don't know or care about her past.

Rand should start stressing that people should be PROUD of their candidate and be able to state and back those reasons up. Not simply uttering that "He'll fix America", or "He's Trusted". There's a lot to work with there. Just ask Ben Carson what he thinks about Ted's latest despicable tactic. Ted will soon lose some of the religious vote - either to Carson, or have it spread out.

Sigh.....Rant done for now. On to New Hampshire and hope this kicked Rand in the ass enough to try a much more aggressive strategy. I fear he'll be less aggressive though. We'll see.

we turned it into a psudo-democracy: disguising the oligarchy.

Senators where supposed to be selected by state legislatures.

Congressman from the popular vote.

The president via the electoral college.

Nominees where to be selected by delegates. Those would be the smart people who had a higher pedigree and understanding of these issues.  It's was the popular vote among the delegates, whom truly cared. TPTB cut us out and bound us.

We have a serious obstacles to overcome. I think all we can do is keep trying and slowly educate people and free them. Elections are rigged but they provide an environment to connect to our communities and grow; we have to have a mascot to be engaged.  This was not ever going to be easy, but if we do our part our children or grandchildren can have it.

We need to keep elections centered on liberty issues. Every time we elect a puppet, a few people will start to question the false paradigm. Eventually, we will have an overwhelming irate majority to overcome the rigged system.

We probably need to get a few Liberty Governors so we can take over from the ground up.  If we can get more Senators, we will reduce the pool of puppets that the Establishment can draw from.

Those who are; are those whom are not.

the issues Rand talks about.  To me,...to us... he's the only one addressing real solutions to real problems.  But I think the average person out there hasn't considered half of these issues and don't actually know what hes talking about.

I think they

  1. don't understand the problem
  2. don't understand the solution
  3. and only care about what the TV or Radio talking heads tell them to care about.

Trump is an idiot ....or does he just act like one?  Cruz is a complete phony anyone can see through his act....or can they?

I think the sad key to success is to talk down to the public in glib sound bites and applause lines.  Impossible to do when you are simultaneously trying to educate the public.

I base this analysis on my own family.  Some are conservative, some are liberal and a few claim to be neither but they all share one thing.  While being reasonably intelligent in their everyday lives, they know absolutely nothing past what the news channels tell them.  And if it isn't on the news, they don't care about it, much less believe it.

So no matter what Rand does he's talking a foreign language.  Sad that liberty is a foreign language....   If he starts attacking like you suggest, he loses anyone that has supported him so far and loses any chance of waking up anyone else.

Trump and Cruz supporters are so dogmatic that they won't jump ship unless their candidate folds.  Its the new coke or pepsi with Rubio as 7up.

Rand is the Orange Juice.  Healthy for you but not what the kids reach for first.

"If he starts attacking like you suggest, he loses anyone that has supported him so far and loses any chance of waking up anyone else."

We're talking about the sheep here. As Ron once previously stated; "Sometimes you have to hit them over the head with a 2x4 in order to get your message across". I really have a hard time believing that anyone here would  no longer be willing to vote for Rand simply because he suddenly became a "bully" to the establishment puppets on stage and started acting in a ruder manner towards them. His stances on the issues would not change - only his demeanor and apparent disgust towards those dirty, traitorous, bought & sold politicians. He would only be verbalizing what many of the fed up citizens of this country wish we could say to them while holding their feet to the fire.

Just for argument's sake; If Rand, in a parallel universe, suddenly came off as THE arrogant, egotistical candidate - yet he was the closest thing to a liberty candidate, offered real solutions (as he has - unlike trump), and was simply airing the dirty laundry of the other snakes in the race (in the hopes that they would be voted out - they should be held to a higher standard after all), would you really abstain from voting for him, or choose someone else - simply for demeanor? Keep in mind, that those of us that are informed, know Rand is doing it all in the name of liberty - whatever is necessary in order to win this very important election. Logic and reason are not working on the masses and unfortunately, time is short.

Rand needed more of those headlines and people talking about him. Not nearly enough people knew WHO he was - much less what he stood for. Even those that abhor trump would side with Rand simply for being "their voice".  http://www.buzzfeed.com/stephaniemcneal/andrew-alemao-tomato-thrower#.tr...

To this day, I feel that Rand and/or the campaign dropped the ball by not trying to capitalize on the Latino vote after Trump first made those famous remarks. He could have reached out to them, just as he has with reaching out to the Black community.

Also, just for arguments sake, let's say that Rand had called Cruz "nothing but a 2 faced bought and sold politician". Can you imagine the headlines? Now you would have people asking, "Rand? Rand, who? Who's Rand" and, "Why would he call him that on national tv?".

Replies might go something like; "Ohhh, I thought Cruz was ANTI-Establishment & against the big banks, but I didn't know that Cruz's wife was a director for Goldman Sachs and that he was loaned over a million dollars." "I didn't know he's flip flopped on immigration, the NSA, and didn't bother to vote on auditing the FED after boasting on tv that he was a co-sponsor". How revealing.

Oh well, what's done is done.

Trump is Red Bull, and Cruz is Monster. Rand is more like Milk. The voters in Iowa were told they had to support the Monster to stop the Bull, because milk wasn't electable.

Thanks for expressing what has been trapped in my mind so well, I agree 100%. . . . I love Orange Juice!

And yes, the people still don't understand the problem, some still think there isn't even a problem, That, is the problem right now! That is why Oregon will not work right now, and the only reason I can explain why Rand didn't do well in Iowa, well that and outright fraud and media manipulation.

I go to this bible study once week they spoke about the Reps candidate. And the funny thing is one mention about Bonehead cruz(she like)and said that if Bonehead cruz runs against Whore hillary he would lose...base on the polls. I said Rand Paul is the only candidate that came beat Whore hillary. They all get upset...mostly One.

Just like I said what type of spirit do most Americans have at least 90% have the Spirit of Error.

This is the same shit that God try to teach...Spirit of Truth.
