Let's throw salt on Rand's wound - The Daily Show
So The Daily Show is now apparently following in Fox's footsteps by replacing 5th place Rand with 6th place Jeb. So much for that man crush Noah supposedly had. Hypocrites of 2012.
Last night hurt - A LOT! I felt completely let down by my fellow Americans and the height of ignorance they demonstrated. I AM NOT optimistic. I was honestly expecting no less than 3rd. If the polling was accurate, Rand only received 8,481 votes. Not even the 10,000 students showed! About 1,200,000 phone calls were made - not much effect was shown there. I hate to be a downer, but facts are facts. Either Rand's message is not getting out there, or people are too damn stupid and simply don't care.
If people are siding with Cruz for being the "Liberty/Religion" candidate or Trump for being the "Anti-Establishment" candidate, then Rand needs to start pointing out what NON Liberty/Religion & NON Anti Establishment candidates they are. He really needs to start attacking Cruz on his ties to the banks and to the establishment (NSA/FED). He needs to do it more aggressively and humiliating. He also needs to point out to the voters, like he did Christie ("If you want your WW3 candidate"/Bridgegate) in a way that the regular voter/viewer at home can actually understand and APPLY how stupid it is to associate Cruz with Liberty and Religion, or Trump with Anti Establishment and Leadership. I know this is not popular, but I would go as far as to psychologically make it embarrassing to admit in public that you support Trump or Cruz for the things they've said or done. "You support a racist, a candidate that declares his followers are too stupid to NOT vote for him if he were to shoot someone in public, and want to elect someone that's too afraid to handle questioning from a journalist?" "Are you really going to support someone that didn't disclose loans from the big corporate banks for fear that it might not look right in voters eyes? Someone who's practically married to Goldman Sachs?"
My main gripe with Ron was that he was too nice and gentlemanly to attack the other candidates. Too classy for politics. Rand may be attacking, but he needs to do it in a way that will humiliate the other candidates and make the public really think twice about the "core reasons" they are supporting their candidate. He needs to call out the voters as well, and get the AVERAGE NON INFORMED voter thinking; "Gee, I didn't know that about Cruz/Trump/Rubio. Rand's right, that's not very Religious/Anti-Establishment/Presidential/Etc". Eventually getting them to the point of making the voter feel shame or embarrassed to publicly state support for them.
I know this is not a "popular" tactic, but this is what the AVERAGE voter responds to. They vote because he's the 1st "Black" president. She's the 1st "Woman" president. He's "Presidential". I like him, and what he has to say, BUT "HE CAN'T WIN", so I won't "throw my vote away". This is what we - the informed - are up against. And unfortunately, MANY, not all, but MANY don't listen to logic as evidenced last night and in the past elections. I bet you MOST of those Hillary voters don't know or care about her past.
Rand should start stressing that people should be PROUD of their candidate and be able to state and back those reasons up. Not simply uttering that "He'll fix America", or "He's Trusted". There's a lot to work with there. Just ask Ben Carson what he thinks about Ted's latest despicable tactic. Ted will soon lose some of the religious vote - either to Carson, or have it spread out.
Sigh.....Rant done for now. On to New Hampshire and hope this kicked Rand in the ass enough to try a much more aggressive strategy. I fear he'll be less aggressive though. We'll see.
