GOP presidential candidates target IRS

Freeman15 Sat, 01/16/2016 - 21:31

The IRS has been a common target of 2016 Republican presidential candidates’ ire.

That played out during Thursday’s debate when Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Marco Rubio (Florida) tussled over the agency’s future.

Cruz criticized Rubio for leaving “the IRS code in with all of the complexity,” while Rubio said the agency couldn’t actually be scrapped as Cruz has proposed because some entity would need to collect Cruz’s proposed value-added tax.

Rand Paul Schools The Libertarian Party

Freeman15 Sat, 01/16/2016 - 20:59

After the predictable and par for the course move by the media to bump Rand Paul off the main debate stage and in with the also-rans, Senator Paul made a move that surprised many pundits and observers. Instead of accepting the demotion and participating he declined to attend and instead scheduled his own multimedia Town Hall style meeting for the same time slot.

GOP Debates Are Pure Hawk Without a Paul

Anti War. com

"Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul was not the perfect antiwar candidate sent down from above, but you would be forgiven for thinking so if you compare the 2008 and 2012 presidential races to the 2016 one.

Ron Paul was not without fault (early immigration fearmongering, the vote for the Afghanistan Authorization for Use of Military Force) but he was the rare politician who got better and more interested in peace and freedom the longer he stayed in office. The 2012 election was basically a victory lap for him, but one that involved the vital message of peace and nonintervention. There’s a reason that he’s so beloved, and that YouTube videos with titles that call Paul a seer for predicting more terrorist attacks on the US back in 1998 are amusingly common.

I just watched the first Republican debate without a liberty candidate since 2008

Anne Fri, 01/15/2016 - 22:48

2016 has been, for libertarians, basically Rand Paul verses every other Republican—and his opponents are all awful.

Republicans being awful is not new. Republican debates without a libertarian to inject some sanity into the discussion is something we haven’t had to endure for three elections in a row.

This reality slapped me in the face hard last night. (more)

Least watched GOP debate

Well sure, Rand Paul wasn't there.

While GOP candidates were slugging it out at the debate, we spent the night with Rand Paul

Anne Fri, 01/15/2016 - 13:06

While Republican presidential candidates duked it out Thursday night in North Charleston, South Carolina, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) was lounging in a leather swivel chair.

He was about 750 miles away, at Twitter's Manhattan headquarters in the Chelsea neighborhood, cracking jokes about other presidential candidates and fielding questions from supporters.

Waking up is hard to do. Snowden a tool.

Snowden revelation? This article makes a lot of sense. Don't believe anything that is advertised. I do not like feeling this way. https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2016/01/07/cia-denies-request-for-inf...

In an article written by Daniel McAdams, Director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity http://www.ronpaulinstitute.org/, we find out the latest Neocon spin is that calling a Neocon "a Neocon" now makes us a bunch of anti-Semites!  When Neocons make stuff like this up as they go along, you know they are starting to worry about people waking up!

Ted Cruz is not eligible to be president

ecard71 Tue, 01/12/2016 - 18:57

he Constitution provides that “No person except a natural born Citizen . . . shall be eligible to the Office of President.” The concept of “natural born” comes from common law, and it is that law the Supreme Court has said we must turn to for the concept’s definition. On this subject, common law is clear and unambiguous. The 18th-century English jurist William Blackstone,
