This probably has no place on your guy's nice Rand Paul forum but I have this highly complex set of feelings about weapons and who should or shouldn't own them or use them or whatever.

See I think I started out as a pacifist but then I got drug into law enforcement through the back door and I ended up being....well technically my title at one point was an Officer but what it really meant was I was a bounty hunter and our agency provided "law enforcement consulting" which means everything from tactical training to directing traffic to picking up dead bodies in the desert and even to "taking down fuges" which is like the guys you see on America's Top Most Wanted and all this crap.

What drug me in was two things:

I'm looking at Bernie's voting record on sever dimensions. For an avowed socialist, he  has a pretty good track record on "issues".

OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) - A former Oklahoma City police officer convicted of raping four women and sexually assaulting several others while he was on duty was sentenced on Thursday to 263 consecutive years in prison, the maximum allowable sentence.

Anthony Ruelas, 15, said his eighth grade classmate was wheezing and gagging for three minutes Tuesday morning while no one did anything.  But when Anthony did do something, he apparently broke the rules.

“He may not follow instructions all the time, but he does have a great heart,” said Mandy Cortes, Anthony’s mother.

The Presidential Motorcade was stuck in traffic due to 1-2 inches of snow that fell in DC yesterday. The trip that normally takes about 25 minutes took more than an hour. There is the potential for up to a foot or more of  snow, hopefully it will fall while Obama is on the road. (and without his electronic pen!)

It comes as no shock to anyone who knows cannabis that it’s something of a miracle herb.

But as we bring this plant out of the dark and into the light, it continues to blow our minds – just how great the benefits of marijuana actually are!

We are talking about benefits to public health, to the economy, and to each and every person who develops a positive relationship with this therapeutic plant.

The destruction of the Republican party will include the Democratic party as well.  I'm all for this because I despise the two party system in this country.  But if the Republican party were smart they would nominate Rand Paul.  Trump is a plant to secure a Democratic Presidency.  The RNC could salvage what they have left and save their party with a Rand Paul nomination.

Paul has been courting student support pretty aggressively.

Rand Paul to rally at Iowa State on caucus day

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul will make Iowa State University his final stop before Iowans cast their vote on caucus night.

Paul is planning to hold an "Iowa 10,000 Rally" at ISU at 5 p.m. on Feb. 1, hours before votes will be cast at caucus locations. Paul's campaign has set a goal of signing up 10,000 students to caucus for him on Feb. 1.

Every once in a while, I come across something that I find almost impossible to believe. Somebody sends me a document or a link to an article, and I am stunned.

I have just learned of an official study in the Los Angeles school district that says that, by 2020, the school district is going to be in a fiscal crisis of monumental proportions. Already, Chicago's schools are also facing this.
