he big news from last Thursday's Republican Presidential Debate on Fox News was the absence of what Meghan Kelly called, "the elephant not in the room." Thanks to the ongoing feud between her and front runner Donald Trump, the latter was not on the stage. In what was largely treated as a footnote, Rand Paul was.

WATERLOO, Iowa — It was, as Donald Trump might say, a “low energy” event.

While driving the roads in Los Angeles is of no interest to some but to me it was a question I had for a long time. Small delapidated trucks some toyotas carrying a whole lot of used garaged doors to the point that these trucks looked like they were going to tip.

For those not familiar with the history of the this car company, it was abruptly shutdown after the CEO was convicted on felony drug trafficking.  Apparently the limitations to production have finally sunset and a new owner can now begin producing vehicles.  As a kid I was in love with this car and have had the chance to sit in a couple, even had someone who owned one living in my town.  At 100K a pop, the likelihood of owning one is still slim to none but it is great to see production on a classic steal body vehicle start up again.

The Iowa caucuses are just around the corner. But it remains to be seen how they will play out.

Caucuses are unpredictable and they require highly coordinated get-out-the-vote-efforts. Because of that, traditional landline polling isn’t the best indicator of likely outcomes.

I never seen nothin' like this.  These fellers catch fish and freeze them and they seem happy when warmed up a spell.
