Officer gets 5 years for holding gun to man's head

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — A former police officer who held a gun to a man's head over alleged illegal parking was sentenced to five years in prison Friday.

Officer Jenchesky (jin-CHEHS'-kee) Santiago was convicted by a judge of two counts of assault, a handgun offense and misconduct in office.

Last month, Prince George's County Police released cellphone video of the incident showing Santiago holding a gun to a man's head and ordering him to get back inside a car. Prosecutors say Santiago had accused the man of parking illegally when he had not.

No one was injured in the May 2014 incident in Bowie, a Maryland suburb of Washington.

this type of news would not surprise you in the least. They are notorious for planting drugs, pulling people over without any probable cause, and of course, the type of BS you see posted above.

This video made me sick to my stomach

I think they meant good news as in he was actually sentenced instead of just getting away with it, however I do agree with you. The picture alone is sickening.

Once had an on duty SO who we "Get along with" pull his firearm bragging about how he gets a kick out of how fast folks decide to take orders when he does this. After he secured it back in the holster I asked him what the current policy was about just cause to pull his firearm. "We are not supposed to pull it until we actually think it will be needed" he replied. "Like just now?" I asked. :)
