Ignoring Politicians: the Ultimate Revolution

Ron Johnson Tue, 12/22/2015 - 06:11

When writing letters doesn't get their attention, when protesting is suppressed, when pleadiing is ignored, then the final revolutionary response by the People to an arrogant non-responsive State is to ignore it.

Out of a population of 315 million people, almost nobody watched Hillary and Bernie.  Good.

2012 voter turnout was a little above 50%. 2014 voter turnout was 37%. The people are ignoring, to an extent, and then they are lied to and manipulated into thinking the vote is going to matter, and that they have a voice in the future of the country.

I know that without Ron Paul working tirelessly over decades and hanging on until 2008, we all wouldn't have been woken up, but I just don't see politics being the solution anymore. I would love for Rand to get the nod, but realistically, they are not going to let that happen. They have the tools and the power of rule changes and media manipulation.

The people need to have a massive awakening and vote with their dollars and non-contribution in the political games. But I fear the manipulation and comfort is too deep.

That all sounds bleak, but for some reason I am still optimistic. Not sure why, but I am. I guess because I do see changes since 2008, they are slow, but peoples perceptions are changing.

Good morning Sir...It is refreshing to see your handle on here. looks like we are the early risers of the board here :)  Not to promote it but there is influential power in the Twitter format for when folks are ignored by their representatives. A funny thing happens when they are called on an issue directly with so many folks watching and waiting for a reply. It most definitely puts them in the Hot Seat to give a reply to the question fearing it might look like they are avoiding it if they don't. They can't say that they didn't receive or ignore the communication like they can with the normal channels.

I have a fatal personality flaw that prevents me from adopting new technology until I can no longer avoid it.  I was the last person I knew to get a cell phone.  I hated the very idea of a P.C.  Usually I have to be dragged kicking and screaming into new technology.

My life's goal is to throw away my cell phone.  I've already gone back to writing letters long hand....let the NSA try to crack THAT code!

Tweeting?  Sounds...superfluous.
