Build An Organic Self Sustaining Grow Tower

Do you just tip water in to the soil at the top or water each plant?

Or do you tip water down the centre pipe so it runs out the holes and into the soil......can you fill it with plant material as well as water?

I note you had holes in the bottom of bucket...how do you collect the water as it passes through and reuse it?

My wife and I are heavy into self reliance and I like and enjoy posts like this very much.
